Chemistry Department
The medicinal chemistry team at Egret is an integrated group that supports programs in lead optimization, competitive analysis, process development and scale up. The team is managed by a core group of scientists with many years of experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery at leading international firms. A broad range of chemical expertise is represented among its members, including medicinal chemistry, combinatorial and parallel synthesis, biochemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, natural product synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry and organ metallic chemistry. The team has collaborations with the top academic institutes in China and the US and is supported by experienced consulting chemists. The principal mission of the chemistry team is to design and synthesize biological active compounds, to support process development and to provide oversight for cGMP API synthesis in contract laboratories.
